The interesting thing to interpret is the extent to which they are simply trying to put the record straight, or just trying to tell it as it was, versus trying to reinvent the story to show themselves in an optimal light.

I feel like Moritz told things pretty straight in this book about Valentine’s personality, which made it a more interesting read.
